ukgirlie1 Posted June 9, 2010 #1 Share Posted June 9, 2010 Hi! Just to reassure anyone planning on taking a private tour in St Petersberg, travelling on Azura, if you have been worried by other posts concerning disembarking in St. Petersberg, it was really easy for us with no fuss. We left earlier than all the other tours who were gathered at various venues on board while awaiting disembarkation and we were first down the gangway and through immigration. Our guide (Elena from Alla Tours) found us easily too and we were very soon on our way! It was the beginning of a great tour but we had all been very concerned by tales of difficulties others have faced with ships being obstructive to those not taking a ship's own tours. We had all been a bit apprehensive about it all. P and O Azura were great and the second day was easy too. Thanks Azura! Sarah.:)
EOS-User Posted June 10, 2010 #2 Share Posted June 10, 2010 Hi Sarah; Thanks for posting; that's reassuring :) We're into St. P in July - also with Alla. I'm well prepared for any potential aggro  but don't really anticipate any. Seems to me from a number of posts now that the cruise-lines have finally accepted that an increasing number of pax prefer to be 'independant' and that independant tour operators are here to stay... marlin48 Posted June 10, 2010 #3 Share Posted June 10, 2010 Hi Sarah, Thanks for the info, we too are on Azura in St. Petes in july and we have booked with Red October and one of our group has walking difficulties so we were prepared for a problem. cruiseanywhere2 Posted June 17, 2010 #5 Share Posted June 17, 2010 Hi How did you get your visas or where they organised by the tour operator?
BrianI Posted June 17, 2010 #6 Share Posted June 17, 2010 All tours, whether by the ship or an on shore tour company, are covered under a group visa so individual visas are not required Brian
twinny2 Posted June 19, 2010 #7 Share Posted June 19, 2010 alla tours asked for our passport details for our group visa. you just show your tour ticket, passport and a copy of your passport at immigration:D
