cat9661 Posted June 12, 2010 #1 Share Posted June 12, 2010 I heard that December is their stormy month can anyone confirm this? It would be the middle of December. The only other port we will be going to is Cozumel so it would kind-of stink just to be able to go to one port. Thanks:)

drew sailbum Posted June 13, 2010 #3 Share Posted June 13, 2010 December, particularly the last half of the month, can bring particularly brisk winds. Locals sometimes refer to the Christmas Winds which can blow at 25+ knots for a couple weeks. It is not so much a matter of rain, more wind. Typically these winds are from the ENE and cruise ships are able to tender to George Town. Still, this may provide sea conditions which are unsuitable for Stingray Sandbar trips.
