mmsoko Posted June 13, 2010 #1 Share Posted June 13, 2010 Our Panama Canal cruise ends in Acapulco. Since we've never visited there, we thought we'd like to stay a few days. Would appreciate any advice, thoughts, likes or dislikes about Acapulco, it's attractions and especially where to stay.
beatriz22 Posted June 13, 2010 #2 Share Posted June 13, 2010 we ve practically grown up there, we always stayed at the Hyatt now called Acapulco Grand or something like that at the end of the main tourist street , but the newer newer like 6 star hotels on the way to the a port near Prto *****,1/2 hr out on other side of the bay far from where ships dock; we just like to be near things, be careful there while walking on main street watch your things, its a beach city that comes alive at night, people like the divers (prettier at night) flea maket...old area things like that
NYcruiserNY Posted June 13, 2010 #3 Share Posted June 13, 2010 I would personally recommend the Fiesta Americana Villas or the Emporio as they are both the nicest in the heart of the city. The Grand hotel (former Hyatt) is undergoing extensive renovations and would not advise it at the moment. There are so many things to do/see within the city that you can do on your own within walking distance of both the hotels listed about dining (affordable) Bars, Clubs (if you like that) terrific beachfront places to relax with your toes in the sand while having your favorite drink. Acapulco has such a beautiful bay to look out at you will just love it.. If a tour is what you are after You can email Sabastian Hernandez at eskp_rsh@hotmail dot com he's terrific and the most reasonable I have seen. When is the cruise??
