Jewel Balcony vs Mini Suites

We are booked on our first family cruise on the Jewel in July and have two BC Oceanview Balcony cabins on Deck 9. I am worried that cabin OA8616 Oceanview picture window for my son & wife with 4 and 5 yr kids will not have enough room with all the stuff they need, especially when all the beds are down. Does anyone have a suggestion for me to upgrade them to a balcony or mini suite. My TA says that it is not worth the $$ but I want them to be comfortable. Is deck 11 very noisy for small kids. Are the balcony locks secure for their safety even though we would never leave them in the cabin without an adult.

Have a great time. DH and I just returned from the Jewel a little over a week ago and had a fabulous time. We traveled without our kids this time, but took them on the Dawn in spring of 2009. We chose adjoining cabins with picture windows. My kids were 3 and 5 at the time and I didn't feel comfortable with a balcony. My son was still napping at the time and we wanted to be able to let him sleep peacefully. When we were on the Jewel and we had a BA balcony. The sofa pulls out in that room. It would be a little tight, but I think you could manage.
