World Cup on the Gem?

Are the World Cup matches being shown on the Gem? If so, is there a particular viewing location?

We had the same issue on the Jewel last week with the hockey playoffs. We asked the Cruise Director why they weren't on and he said that it all has to do with position of the ship at the time and what satalite they were picking up.

We were on the Spirit 4 years ago for the last cup and the vey last playoff match...Italy vs France . They were not going to show it , then finally so many people wanted to see it so they set up seats in the bar that was at the back of the casino and there was a huge crowd. They actually made it really nice for the soccer fans. Hope they show it again as we are sailing next week and will miss some of the matches if they dont show them onboard...Good Luck ! :)

I was on the Gem May 29-Jun 12 and they showed the WC games on every public tv on the ship, including the giant screen by reception. The only issue was the feed was from Germany and I couldn't understand the commentators, not that it matters because they were drowned out by vuvuzelas :(
