Hi, we booked this suite for June 2011. My Question is about the balcony. It is overlooking deck 15. Is it loud? Do you have privacy on your balcony? What about the Suites in the front of the ship, like no. 17004. Is the balcony open? Or does it have a glassfront because of the wind! I couldnt see that on pictures? Can anybody help me here?

We just came off the 10/16 sailing in 17030. IT IS THE BOMB SUITE !!!! It has the best views and best balcony of any on the ship. The balcony is HUGE and the bathroom is beautiful with the tub in a corner with windows overlooking the ocean on both sides.

It can be a bit loud when you are out on the balcony during pool time but it is fun. You feel like you are king or queen of the ship! There is no noise when you close your balcony doors, yes, there are two. I am going to post some photos in an album soon.

The Epic Club restaurant is wonderful as is the Butler Service. We had Chris and he was fantastic. The concierge escorts you to shows so there is no waiting..

Don't hesitate!

I have the room booked in Dec. I cant wait. I was wondering about the pullout bed in the main room. Are there two? Just wondering how the suite accommodates 4. I dont think my kids will share a bed.

Thanks

Craig

Only one - a true queen sleeper sofa but it has a real mattress.

Guys I also would be interested in how the private pool is? Did you like the ship at all? I heard so many different things. Thanks so much for sharing!

The pool is nice. As private as any pool that you share with up to 300 of your fellow suite passengers. ;)

Since we had 4 adults in our suite we slept on the pull out bed. Your sleep *sideways* It is interesting how it is pulled out and made. We asked to have them put a foam egg crate on it and it was much more comfortable after that.

Make sure you make use of the Epic Club restaurant. It is lovely. From the second your feet hit the port you are wisked from private check in through 4-5 very capable persons hands right through and around every line much to the chagrin of the passengers in the long lines right up to your suite. Your butler will spend a good amount of time going over everything in your suite and the suite complex with you. He/She will take very good care of you.

One thing we didn't notice until almost the last day was that there is a *ship* phone. A portable phone you can take with you on the ship so that if one person or party is traveleing around the ship or at the pool they can call the room or you can pick up any house phone and locate them. It even works in the elevators.. !! It would have come in handy had we known as I was in meetings most days and if my family had it with them I could have found out where they were on my lunch break easily.

There is lots of *mood* lighting in the suite. Fun Stuff. Have a great time.

I was in 17004 in September, absolutely no noise the whole cruise. The open air balcony is amazing. I liked the fact we were in the front of the ship, kind of like sitting in the front seat of the car. And there was always complete privacy.

The sofa bed in the living room had a real mattress, not just the foam mattress you would normally see with these beds. My son thought it was comfortable. Our butler was a great guy, did an amazing job. We aren't hard to please but he did pamper us. We gave him $100.00 at the end of the cruise. It was our housekeeper that impressed us the most and we gave him $160.00 at the end of the cruise. As far as the concierge, we made two requests and both were completely ignored so you can guess the tip. I found them to be very detatched, too busy I guess.

The courtyard pool was never busy, the most I counted, on a sea day, was 40-45 people.

Some of our highlights in our suite;

the espresso machine (always stocked), the small refrigerator that had sodas, milk and chocolate milk at all times, the daily snacks brought to us, the mixers brought to us with the 3 complementary bottles of liquor ( we were told they did not supply mixers).

The ship was amazing, the courtyard area more so. Have fun! We will be back in January

Hi mttwinmom, we are staying in 17004 with our 8-year-old son in March-- any other info you can share about it? We have sailed Seabourn and in Disney concierge suites and are interested in knowing more about this particular cabin and the overall experience-- I have done all of the other general Courtyard stalking that can be done, so I am excited to find someone who has actually stayed in this cabin!!;)

Thanks!

Allison

Back to the original topic of Deluxe Owners Suite 17030 I finally put my photos up in a picassa album. I can't post the link but you can find them here. picasaweb dot google dot com backslash RealCruises Put that all together and check out the folder for the suite.

I will put some more of the Epic Club, etc up later so check back in the album. There are some nice ones of the Epic itself in a different album also.

Allison,

You will love 17004. For three people there will be so much room. One thing I found interesting was there was so little talk about the second bathroom. As you enter the suite there is a half bath that is so handy, especially for guests. You will be given an order form to fill out for liquor, do that as soon as possible. Also ask for the mixers you will want. All will be delivered by the next morning. Also, if your son has any special requests for soda or chocolate milk, let the butler know and you will never have to ask again. The balcony has two loungers and two chairs, very spacious. Sliding doors from living room and the bedroom to the balcony. The bathroom is very spacious, has the most amazing views:). The tub was huge. The dressing area is connected to the bathroom and is the size of an inside cabin. If you like coffee use the espresso machine. You will have not only coffee pods, but tea pods also. The tea was yummy. There is a dvd library that you and your son can choose dvd's from, a dvd is in the living room. They also provide you with a laptop (you do have to purchase the time) and a ship phone. If your son goes to kids club this is very handy, they can call you from anywhere on the ship if he wants to go back to the cabin. The dining room area is very adequate for 4 people. Every evening a treat will be delivered. We loved the chocolate covered strawberries. My kids did enjoy the private pool area but we spent most of our days at the slides. It's a great place to go to get away from noise and didn't seem to be used as much as I thought it would. If you have any specific questions about the suite or the ship just ask. We loved our experience, the suite made it so much more. It's the best of both worlds. You can be a part of the whole ship experience, then escape to this very quiet, private part of the ship. Have fun

Thanks so much for replying! I know I will have other questions-- right now, two that come to mind are whether the DVD selection is good for an 8-year-old for the week (or should we bring our own?) and whether water and soft drinks are restocked-- I actually haven't been able to find the answer to that anywhere! I'm so excited to hear how much you and your family loved the cabin-- we are REALLY looking forward to this trip!!

yes, the water and soda's were restocked at least every day. We had the soda's restocked twice a day. Another thing I forgot to mention. If there is anyone else traveling with you but not staying in a villa suite you can ask your butler to make them a "blank key" so you don't have to meet them at the docked door everytime they come to visit. Our butler did this for my nephew and son (both adults staying in and inside cabin).

Hi Realent :D

We're considering 17030 and looked at the pictures you uploaded {thanks so much for uploading} we have a question concerning the balcony... your picture shows a covered lounge chair in the balcony corner... was that lounger on the balcony when you arrived or was it a special request upon arrival? Noise: was it noisy overlooking the pool area? Did you hear noise once you closed the balcony doors?

Thanks much,

JJ ;)
