charuti Posted June 20, 2010 #1 Share Posted June 20, 2010 Hi, we will be in san juan in october on a sunday. we are thinking of renting a car from charlies rentals to go the rainforest. Our ship docks at 7am and our flight back home is at 725pm. . Is there any other stops we should make on our way there or back? Does anyone have suggested itinerary? thanks for the help. rainforestgirl Posted June 20, 2010 #2 Share Posted June 20, 2010 Well, you can take the long and scenic way to the rainforest via Pinones, and maybe do a bike rental or just walk the boardwalk and see the views. If you do it on the way home, it will be VERY busy (Sunday is THE day for locals to go and enjoy). Or just go straight to the rainforest and stop at the outlets on the way home (open 11-5pm I think). Or after the rain forest you can head to Luquillo and eat at the kiosks or go to the beach-Balneario Monserate. Or go to La Pared and watch the surfers and the water. harryjr Posted July 5, 2010 #3 Share Posted July 5, 2010 We will be in San Juan on Wednesday, Nov. 10 from 12:00 noon till 8:00 P.M. and would like to visit El Yunque during that time. There are 4 of us in our party and I was wondering if renting a car would be the best bet. We were in PR about 6 years ago and rented a car for the week, spending a day in the rain forest--so it won't be a new experience, just one that we want to enjoy again. I guess the main concern is the time involved in making the transaction and then the traffic. Would we likely get caught in "rush hour" on the way back to the ship? Any input from those who have experience would be appreciated.
