Statendam 7day Alaska- laundry question

We will be on the Statendam this summer for a week going to Alaska. How much would the unlimited laundry be for 4 of us? Thanks for any help. We are starting to think about how much we need to pack for our 16 days away. If we can get off the ship with all our laundry clean, that will make the land portion easier.

Used the unlimited laundry on a recent 14 day Alaskan cruise and it was $99.00 per CABIN (not per person) for 14 days. In 2008, the 7 day Alaskan cruise price was $45.00 per CABIN (again, not per person). Of course that was with 2 people ina cabin, so perhaps w/four in a cabin, it may be more??? Call guest services and ask for specific costs.

The laundry packages don't go from the very beginning of the cruise until the very end. They usually start the first full day at sea, but sometimes not until the second full day. They usually end the next to the last full day, but sometimes might be 48 hours (don't recall exactly). This makes the package a good deal for cruises of more than seven days, possibly ok for seven days and not practical for less than seven.

For our recent 6 day cruise, we just paid per bag which hold quite a bit. We gone to San Diego several days early, so we had a bag ready the morning after boarding.

We are on a 6 day cruise tour followed by a 7 day cruise on the Statendam. Would we still be charged the $45 for the cruise portion? This would even be more appealing since we could get are clothes laundered from the cruise tour on the ship.

Yes, the $45 charge is (or was in 2008) for a 7 day cruise. You could immediately send out all your cruise tour laundry the day you boarded after you signed up for the unlimited laundry at the front desk (we did that first upon boarding). Clothes normally come back the next day by dinner time. Sometimes, if you're really lucky, you send them out in the morning and they're back by dinner the same day! Just had that happen on the Amsterdam 14 day itinerary! Wonderful! And the previous poster is correct, you can't send laundry out on the last sea day before disembarking - for instance is your cruise is from Sunday to Sunday, the last day you'd be able to send laundry out would be Friday so it would come back on Saturday. Well worth the cost - we love the service and will do it on every HAL cruise we sail - no matter how long or how short!
