Fakarava snorkeling

We will be on the Paul Gauguin in September at Fakarava. Many sources say that it is a wonderful place to snorkel. I have not seen any excursions to snorkel that are available from the port. What has been your experience in Fakarava? Thank you.

You snorkel from the shore, so you must have reef shoes. It wasn't fabulous. but after two days at sea, it was wonderful to get into the warm water.

You don' t need to go on the excursion on this port. Once you on this port, just walk about 5 minutes to your right and there is a small white sand beach is awaiting for you. The water is crystal clear and warm water, you can snorkel or you can read your favorite book under the tree in the shaded area. There are lots of fish and manta rays.
