Shallow water snorkeling

Recommended Posts

Do you want a nice beach where you can snorkel on your own, or are you looking for a snorkeling excursion that accepts younger kids?

We're going to Nassau in July and I think we have settled on walking to the British Colonial Hilton, which is 50.00 pp but includes a 30.00 food credit. You can use the beach, the pool, the hammocks, etc and it is about a block from the dock. The beach is small but supposedly nice with great views and I believe the 50.00 includes use of the water sports such as kayaks and snorkels.

I believe in St. Thomas you can see some nice fish off the beach at Coki (look around the rocky areas)....

Coki beach is great for snorkelling and is shallow- plenty of nice fish. We went with Godfreys Tours http://www.godfreytoursvi.com/

he recommended Coki rather than Megans Bay for snorkelling. Rented the gear on the beach for $5

Coki Beach on St Thomas is best w/kids. No need for a tour. Grab a taxi and go.

You and the kids might enjoy visiting nearby Coral World.

Nassau and St Maarten beaches are sand, both poor for snorkeling, and require a boat snorkel.

That's a bit much for a 4YO, unless he/she is a water baby, :p
