mathgeek1978 Posted June 28, 2010 #26 Share Posted June 28, 2010 And the star chef cooking show (like an Iron Chef kind of show), and a fashion show... give me more time and I'll remember what we did... HAHA...
legaljen1969 Posted June 28, 2010 #27 Share Posted June 28, 2010 I have not yet been on Carnival. I have a Carnival trip planned for next spring. However, we went on the Celebrity Solstice for an Eastern Caribbean itinerary in April of this year. We had a wonderful time. I am 40. My husband is 47. It was a bit quieter than other cruises we have taken on RCCL. We enjoyed it, but we are pretty quiet. I think maybe the Alaska itinerary may have had some effect on your experience. That said, I am very much looking forward to my first "Fun Ship" cruise.
joetop2467 Posted June 28, 2010 #28 Share Posted June 28, 2010 We have been on Celebrity once and Carnival six times. Carnival is definitely more fun than Celebrity. The waterslides seal the deal for me and I'm 59 years old. While we loved our Celebrity cruise, especially the homemade ice cream, it seemed so quiet to us. We're going back on the Legend for the third time in a week and a half. We also have a Celebrity cruise scheduled for my big "60" in January. Either beats any other vacation. misguidedangel Posted June 29, 2010 #29 Share Posted June 29, 2010 Carnival seems to have a fair number of outdoor activities around the pool between 12-2pm on sea days. In port days they will have less poolside activities, but nonetheless, some of the poolside games/activities are priceless..... They don't call them the funships for no reason!!!! lillian marie Posted June 29, 2010 #30 Share Posted June 29, 2010 CCL gears itself to a younger family crowd. I think you'll enjoy your cruise, there are lots to do on a CCL cruise.
cruzmax Posted June 29, 2010 #31 Share Posted June 29, 2010 We are in our 50's (young!) and have cruised Royal C, Celebrity, Princess and Carnival. Loved them all, each for different reasons (love Celebrity's homemade sorbet!) We were hesitant to try Carnival, went on our first Carnival cruise 3 years ago, and have cruised with them 6 times since(Valor and Liberty). The food is great (if you like stir-fry, we love the Mongolian Grill) and they have a nice deli. We like the colorful decor, the music, the food, and the fun atmosphere. You never know until you try, so have a great time! Pam in KY

OCruisers Posted June 29, 2010 #33 Share Posted June 29, 2010 While we very much like Celebrity, must admit Carnival offers much more in the way of FUN things to do and watch!
