Kodi'smom Posted June 28, 2010 #1 Share Posted June 28, 2010 We are stopping at the port of Volos Greece and I've signed us up for the Meteora Monasteries. How difficult is the climb up? Do you have to be a super athlete? We are in training right now practising going up many steps. Also if anyone has gone to Sumela Monastery, same issue, the stairs. Eileen G Posted June 28, 2010 #2 Share Posted June 28, 2010 We were there last Sept and had a beautiful day. You don't need to be a super athlete but being in good shape helps. You have to climb down to the stairs at the bottom of the picture before you climb up to the monestary. It was a great day and I would do it again in a heartbeat. I'm 57 and a bit over weight but I do work out to get in shape for our cruises.
