Just back from the Dream 06/19/10

After dinner we went to the show and it was the Legends show. First was Bingo we bought a few cards and came close but did not win. This was the Legends show where fellow passengers dress up like famous people and perform. The man that was James Brown was actually named James Brown. They were all great and sounded like the real people. After the show everyone gathered in the Atrium where you could meet the entertainers and the entertainment staff.

I had been collecting cards all day and at the farewell party I had asked Todd the Cruise Director for his card. He said to see him after the show and he would get his and James the asst cruise director's cards for me. Well he only gave me his because he said he could not find James to get his. So now i have all the card but James and Stitch. This man actually looks like stitch so the name fits him. Stitch was hosting the Comedy Club so we headed to the last midnight show before our cruise was over. This was mark Simmons. He was so very funny and I really liked his comedy. He said he had been in a few movies like Barbershop and such and had shows on Comedy Central and such. he was good. When Stitch opened the doors for the show I asked him for his card and he gave it to me. So on the last day when I had a whole week to do it I got everyones cards but James.

I wish that I had talk to James in person because when I had called into their show he had made fun of my accent and that I was from (jo-jah). He was just teasing but I laugh about it all week. He was from England so he had an accent himself. In fact this week his parents were visiting and were on the ship.

Well I have come to the last section of my review. I hope the people who did read it enjoyed it. I am not elegant. I am a social worker from Ga who had never been out of the SE USA till I took my first cruise last year. That was my first real vacation ever. My husband had died and he had always wanted to go on a cruise so the boys and I went. Maybe one day I will be able to go on more and become more elegant like the people on this site.

 

My eldest and I left the Comedy show and headed back to the room through the casino. When we get there who should I see but my youngest goofing off with the bartenders. When I got there the bartender told me that my son had drunk all the Bud light and there was no more.

My son Jeffrey said that he had been telling everyone that wanted one that Jeffrey had drunk them all.

I had one last drink coupon so i ordered a Miami Vice. When I turned around my eldest had already headed upstairs. I took my drink and went to a new slot machine and played. I got up to 250 and kept playing going up and down. Finally I quit when back to bar grabbed my son and when to the room. We came in quietly because my eldest was already asleep.

We were in bed watching the debarkation video on TV when the phone rang. My son answered and handed the phone to me when i got there there was nobody. Then there was a knock on the door and it was a security guard stating we were being to loud and to stop partying and go to sleep. We were quiet because one of children was already asleep. The only noise in the cabin was the quiet TV but the guard insisted we were making all the noise. All week we had noisy teenagers in the rooms around us and we get in trouble for watching the debarkation on TV. Cut off the TV and went to sleep. I woke at 6 and noticed we were home. I got up and finished packing and took a shower and made my children get up because i had heard we needed to be off by 8 am. Well we got up and headed out and realized that we could not leave until our number was called. I noticed that a lot of people had not even started getting ready.

We had no problem getting off the ship it was simple and we went right though customs and then picked up luggage and went to get shuttle to Radisson. My boys would not help and I had no cash available for the porters so I had to carry and drag all our luggage to the shuttle which was the last spot in the shuttle line.

Got back to the car loaded up and then drove to Winter Haven Fla to my Mom's house stayed till Monday left my eldest at grandmothers and the drove home arriving at 2:30 am Tuesday and was at work at 8am Tuesday. The end of of my wonderful once in a lifetime vacation.

I forgot something in my review. I did not experience many waits. With that many people I was surprised but I also was happy not to have to wait. Also the smell I do not think is the ship but the people. The food was very gassy and the teenagers were ripping them all week. The cruise director even made a joke about a kid getting on the elevator then farting and getting off.

Everyone of the entertainment staff has a trading card with personal info on the back like a baseball card. On the front was a picture. You were to try all week to get them to give you their card and the object was to have then all by the last day. I got them all on the last day except for James' card. I wish I had the whole set.
