Tony & Trevor Posted June 30, 2010 #1 Share Posted June 30, 2010 We are taking elderly family on the Aurora this September to the Med. They are not able to walk very far off the ship because of mobility problems. I looked at the excursions offered for this cruise and was very surprised, that all, except one involved a fair amount of walking. I would have thought that this particular Med cruise would have on quite a few elderly passengers that might have difficulty. Does any fellow passengers have any ideas-private taxis to sort out trips etc ? Thank you, Kind regards, Tony
CASPALL Posted June 30, 2010 #2 Share Posted June 30, 2010 Hi Don't know which ports you're going to , but what I would say is - check P&O's tour brochure and decide which ones would be best for you. They usually tell you which ones involve walking etc. When we travel with our friends on a cruise we usually always hire a taxi outside the docks and it's an awful lot cheaper than P&O's prices. If you pre-book a taxi then you are stuck with that time. Bad if it comes a rainy day or you just can't be bothered on the day to leave the ship. Merlin7 Posted July 1, 2010 #3 Share Posted July 1, 2010 There is always at least one tour with the level walking symbol for P&O tours and some which actually say that this is just a sightseing opportunity form the coach. Can't believe there are none on your cruise.
