Denise40 Posted July 3, 2010 #1 Share Posted July 3, 2010 My mom has friends that live in Halifax, and they agreed to take the 4 of us on a tour. Do you all think that is a good idea in regards to time? I would love to go to Peggy's Cove first thing, to try and avoid the bus tours. What would be some other places to go or should we just leave it up to the friends and what they suggest?
Warrior1 Posted July 3, 2010 #2 Share Posted July 3, 2010 If you have kids(you mention the four of us), they might like the Citadel Historic Site. Great fort, with great views!! Also, the Maritime Museum is very interesting with lots of stuff about the Titanic. Boardwalk along the water was nice, too. There is plenty to do and that is the one port that everything we did was within walking distance of the ship. I will say it was an uphill hike to the fort! I heard some other passengers talking about going to Peggy's Cove, but didn't hear anyone talking about it after we got back. Most on these boards have nothing but good things to say about it. Most on our ship loved Halifax!!
maryann ns Posted July 3, 2010 #3 Share Posted July 3, 2010 Absolutely leave it to your friends, as long as you can go to a couple things you feel you must see. Just tell them to go to the furthest away places first. You can end up on the waterfront closer to sailing time. And get it clear what ship time is compared to local time. This should be a great day for you.
