Valor or Liberty for Eastern Caribbean?

We need some help deciding on the either the Valor or the Liberty for next June. We are taking our 2 boys with us ages 7 and 12 and know we want to go the Eastern Caribbean route just can't decide if 1 ship is better than the other. Any opinions?

Thanks,

Amy

We were wondering the same thing. We are planning on Eastern Caribbean June 2011. Based on what I found online, it looks like Liberty may be a year newer. Other than that I think they are about the same. We are considering the Liberty. :D

Now just to throw a wrench in, we are taking a look at the Legend out of Tampa as the airfare will be cheaper and the Western Caribbean cruise is about $300 less than either the Valor or Liberty. How lucky are we that we have such hard decisions to make :0)

Forget which ship.... and decide based on the itinerary and price. The Liberty and Valor are sister ships.

These newer/bigger "Fun Ships" are basically all the same. I have been on the Inspiration, Legend, Valor, Destiny, Triumph, Holiday, and Splendor. It's was my experience that the differences between the Destiny, Triumph, Valor, and Splendor were very minor. The Legend was a bit different in that it has one big dining room, and not two.

Fleet-wide, the food is the same, the same service, the same shows, the same programs, the same activities, even the fellow guest are alike. Decor and themes in decor supposedly give each ship personality. The Legend has urns in its decor, while the Splendor is pink. The Valor is Americana.

The Valor will be in dry dock Jan 30 to Feb 12, 2011 :)

Good to know! I was trying to make the same decision, only for July with my family. We did the Liberty last year and loved the ship. Guess we will try the Valor this time!

Just off the Valor this past weekend. Sailed out of Miami, Western itinerary. 3rd cruise for me & hubby, 1st cruise for the kids. Ship was fine, but I've never cruised on Carnival before, so no other ship to compare the Valor to.

I would choose the Valor - sailed her twice and am a bit partial to her ;-)

I've also sailed on the Liberty and like her as well but the Valor has a special place in my heart.

No matter which ship you choose - I hope you have a blast!

Wishing you all the best,

Cathy

My wife and I were looking at the same cruises for our next cruise. I noticed that airfare was a lot different because of the Liberty sailing on Sat. and the Valor sailing on Sun. We have been on both ships and wouldn't really pick one over the other. They were both beautiful and we had a wonderful time on both. We just booked our next cruise two days ago on the Liberty for 2011. We only have 475 days till we leave for our pre-cruise stay in SoBe. Best of luck to you and you can't make a wrong decision on either of the two ships.

Take the "Legend". Especially if it's less money! GREAT ship, and wonderful service, and food. Outstanding entertainment too! Much easier to get around aboard "Legend". Less folks aboard, so less crowds. Great airport less than 5 miles from the port, and super good hotels, most with shuttle service to the port. Excellent port with easy embarkation/debarkation.

Liberty and Valor are almost identical, and also good, but of the THREE, there's no contest. Go "Legend"!

have sailed on both..the Valor is dark and gloomy and the liberty is very

bright and cheerful..same deckplans ,etc just a different ambiance..the show theatre on the Valor looks like you are at Excalibur in Vegas so if you like that do it..The Liberty is more Victorian in theme and has this awesome chandelier in the main atrium with light bulbs that change colors and is very cool...dont know if the same casino mgr will be on the liberty as when we went last year but she is a blast..you dont feel so bad loosing...hope that helps..
