watermo Posted July 12, 2010 #1 Share Posted July 12, 2010 This is not a review, but I wanted to say that after about 21 Carnival Cruise, the Legend is the nicest ship I have been on. Before this cruise I was a great Glory fan. The ship is beautiful, found it very clean, the staff was wonderful, the food was the best of any ship and the show "Big Easy" should not be missed. Went to the supper club one night and it was very good. The wait staff in the dining room was great and some may not like Ken Byrne the Singing Matire d', but I really enjoyed him. The weather wasn't always good, but it was so hot that the rain felt really good. The only down side to the cruise was that they let the self assist passenger off first then the VIP and from there the rest of the ship by deck. VIP didn't get off until about 9:00, one of the staff said it was due to the fact that the ship was late getting cleared. This was the only fault I could find all week. I really didn't go to many of the clubs, but played the penny slots (being the big time spender that I am) and they kept me occupied all week. I will try to answer any questions. Thanks Naoma

Lady_Jag Posted July 12, 2010 #5 Share Posted July 12, 2010 Hi! I'm sailing on the Legend next year, and the Glory is one of my favorite ships as well. Just coming off the Dream, I wonder if the Legend will be a little anti-climactic, since it doesn't have a Waterworks, big screen, laser show, or Mongolian Wok. Can you please tell me what it is about the Legend that made it your favorite ship, even over the Glory? Thanks!

watermo Posted July 12, 2010 Author #8 Share Posted July 12, 2010 Lady Jag The Legend never seems crowded. The only time is was crowded was on the formal nights in the Colossus Lobby where they were taking the formal pictures. Lots of areas for just setting and relaxing. The casino is on deck 2 and the shops are on deck 3 which is so different than the Glory. At the buffets on Lido the food areas were spread out. There were foods of the Nation, and a rotessrie (spelling) chinese, deli, pizza and out on deck were 2 grill areas and you could walk up and never more than three people in line ahead of you. She is beautiful a chandlier on Lido not to be missed and some of the painting are a little on the risque side only partial naked, but Hollywood Blvd has a large picture of star years ago like when Micky Rooney was a teenager. There is also a small one that tell you who they are. Hey Jen, how are you doing. I thought about you when we were in Tampa, but I didn't have your phone number with me. BULLOCH 12, I do have some of the Funtimes, but don't have a scanner. The formal nights are Monday and Friday in case anyone wonders. pcrum Posted July 12, 2010 #10 Share Posted July 12, 2010 I entirely understand your loving the Legend. Although we have not sailed the Legend, we have sailed the Miracle, another spirit class ship. Although these ships are smaller, the passenger to space ratio is actually greater than on the larger ships. The pool layout on the spirit class just seems so much more spacious! I also love the little areas such as Gatsby's Garden (Miracle) and the Legend's counterpart, the Enchanted Forest, looks just as intriguing from photos I have seen. It's these little private nooks that also make the ship feel less crowded! Having been on both the Glory and the Freedom, I am ready to go back to spirit class! watermo Posted July 12, 2010 Author #12 Share Posted July 12, 2010 kjunea, I believe we went to the supper club on Wednesday night at 6:30. They were going to give us an inside table but I ask for a window table and they gave us one. I forgot to mention tours. I did the Pirate, Monkeys and Birds in Roatan and if you love animals you will like this. I was so hot and sweaty but when I held the monkey, it loved my wet head and was so relaxed and his trainer had to take him off. Lots if walking and take bug spray. In Belize I did the sights and sounds of Belize which I enjoyed it very much take bug spray there also. My daughter had a ticket for this, but it was storming and the water was rough so she opted to stay on the ship. Before the tour was over the sun was shining. clearwatergirl Posted July 12, 2010 #15 Share Posted July 12, 2010 Hi!I'm sailing on the Legend next year, and the Glory is one of my favorite ships as well. Can you please tell me what it is about the Legend that made it your favorite ship, even over the Glory? Thanks! Much like you, the Glory was one of my favorites. The only "thing" that bothered me was getting to the MDR. You had to go up and then come down. So, the deck plan was a little awkward. Not so on the Legend. This could be because of size and a guests comfort level. I REALLY love the Spirit class over the Conquest class. This is mainly due to the deck plan and how the public areas are laid out in relation to cabins. I'm looking forward to my third cruise on the Legend and we're thinking about next March as well. It's a great ship. So is her sister ship, Miracle. Happy cruising. :)
watermo Posted July 12, 2010 Author #16 Share Posted July 12, 2010 gogetter, We got to the port about 10:45 and went right to check-in. I am VIP status so we were told they would start boarding at 11:30. We were on board and almost done with lunch by 11:55. As I said no lines. Grannycb Posted July 12, 2010 #17 Share Posted July 12, 2010 Good to see positive reviews for Legend. We enjoyed the Pride so much that we booked the same cabins on the Legend for this fall. Sounds like we made a good choice.
