funship dollars cancellation question...

Hi all, I have a question I am hoping someone can help me with. I had some funship dollars that could only be used for payment of the cruise (not on board credit) Looking to finally use them, I booked a cruise a few weeks ago and today was the last day to cancel. Well what do you know, today they also came out with a good promotion which got me obc and a better upgrade. So problem is, I used the 600 in funship dollars as the downpayment for the cruise I had already booked. I just called carnival and the rep said the promo was for new booking and was not sure if I canceld, what would happend to the 600 funship dollars. I decided to cancel anyways, but I have noticed that once your after final payment period (which is tomorrow) the prices usually go up. If I book tonight and pay the deposit with a CC, will I have a problem applying the funship dollars tomorrow to the new booking?
