Nachi or Chankanaab

My husband and I seek different things in vacations unfortunately, so I'm trying to figure out if one would work for both of us. I like to relax and have a nice, clean, pretty beach (preferably not too rocky). DH likes to snorkel. Now, I know these are the two polar opposites of requirements, but I wondered if maybe Chankanaab's lagoon would work for me and snorkeling for him. He said he'd do relaxing at Nachi this go round and skip snorkeling, but I'd really rather try to make us both really happy.

if you have another suggestion, I'm all ears too.

Chan is very rocky and the "beach" is not really a beach. You go down stairs into the water. The water is beautiful and we still had a great time. Just wanted to let you know.

Even though you can't walk straight into the water at Chankanaab, the beach is very nice to relax on, with the straw palapa things with two wooden chairs underneath each. Waiters are happy to bring you nice drinks and food. And if you want to swim, you just walk down into the water using the stairs. It's deep, though. Since I am not a strong swimmer, I found a swim vest made me more comfortable snorkeling.

We usually do both! We taxi down to Money Bar, rent snorkle stuff and snorkle for a couple hours (or you can sit it out and watch him from beach) have a beer or two, then taxi down to a beach bar such as Paradise (crowded) or Palancar (nice) or most recently Mr Sanchos which we loved-you do not have to pay entrance or do the all inclusive-we stayed a couple hours and bought drinks and chips and quacomole-oh DH just reminded me we went to Playa Uvas once, too. we both like to snorkle and spend time at nice beach. We have not done Nachi but I think its all inclusive only
