Disneyna Posted July 15, 2010 Author #26 Share Posted July 15, 2010 Thanks for the great review! Do you happen to remember what night and what time the past guest party was? I have the "Fun Times" at home. I will check this when I get home from work tonight :)
Disneyna Posted July 15, 2010 Author #27 Share Posted July 15, 2010 Thank you so much for your review! DH and I are looking at this ship for next summer. I would like to do a balcony room, but you mentioned you were in an interior. Would you have rather done a window or balcony and would you think it would be worth it for this itinerary? I know it's port-intensive so I was wondering because I don't know how much time we would actually spend in the room. Also, what type of crowd was on this ship? Young/ families/ older? Thanks! Personally, I wouldn't get a balcony room for this cruise. You aren't on the ship enough to appreciate it! Our parents got a balcony suite, and it was really nice, but we always watched sail aways on the lido deck, or deck 10 so they didn't get to use it as much as they did on the cruises with actual "at sea" days. I'd say save that extra money and use it on an excursion! We were hardly ever in our rooms other than to sleep and shower. There was a wide mix of guests on this cruise. Lots of families, some babies. And I would say any where from 60-70% locals, maybe more. It's a good mix of people!
2PinaColadas Posted July 15, 2010 #28 Share Posted July 15, 2010 We had a balcony room on this cruise. I wasn't sure about our decision at first, but I am soooo glad we got one. Every morning we stood out on the deck and watched the ship pull into port while enjoying breakfast. Every evening we sat out and watched the sun set. We were often so tired from the day, that it was nice to relax on the balcony when we got back. My DH also enjoyed having a place to "hang out" while I got ready. LOL. This was our favorite cruise, ever. The excursions, the people, the staff-- everything was great.
2xprincess Posted July 15, 2010 #29 Share Posted July 15, 2010 We were on the July 4th sailing of the Victory and I totally agree about the balcony. We had considered it, but ended up booking an ov. Glad we did. Because this is such a port intensive cruise we were never in the cabin!
Hurry&Wait Posted July 15, 2010 #30 Share Posted July 15, 2010 To the OP - sorry for the thread hijack. We were on the same cruise as 2X Princess. We did have a balcony (and enjoyed it if you know what I mean ) but paid the same price as the OV room people. Depending upon the time of year you cruise and the sale prices, you can get some really good deals on this cruise. We ended up getting 3 price drops and two other discounts before all was said and done:D Kenny

geauxbugs Posted July 16, 2010 #32 Share Posted July 16, 2010 Thanks for your great review!!! We took this same cruise in June and it brought back so many great memories!!
geauxbugs Posted July 16, 2010 #33 Share Posted July 16, 2010 I think you will have plenty of time to do the tour and get snacks/sodas from the CVS. I think boarding time was 8:30 pm if you hadn't checked in yet on the boat. You are going to have a blast! I think you'll have plenty of time as well! When we were there in June the last tour was around 4:30.
StrangeBrew Posted July 16, 2010 #34 Share Posted July 16, 2010 Just going to chime in with my 2 cents... :) Since you're arriving the day of, it might be cutting it a little too close to make the Bacardi tour. As I mentioned above, we were on the last tour and I believe it was 3:45 (last tours are earlier on Sunday). We caught a ferry about 3 and finally got to Bacardi about 3:30. If it's something you really want to do (it's fun to try the different Bacardi flavors), I would probably just hand off your bags and then check in after the tour and CVS. Thanks for the insight , I was looking at the same issues , we are probably just going to walk to the fort and check that out , then head over to CVS . Anyone know if they sell Dr Pepper ? LOL

Anyone know if they sell Dr Pepper ? LOL No idea on the Dr. Pepper but I was glad to see they had 7 up! :) For anyone thinking about stopping at CVS, my advice would be to get there earlier in the day if possible. With just a few hours to go until sailaway when we were there, the store was pretty much cleaned out of a lot of soda 12 packs. My friends needed some Diet Coke and fortunately, they did still have some in the back.
