Grocery Store

Can someone recommend the closest store to Pan Am Pier for purchasing liquor

and snacks coming in from the Airport via taxi? Or will the taxi driver know that.

I understand liquor is sold in grocery stores in SJ.

Hoping not to have to go into Old San Juan for that.

There is a Pueblo supermarket that has beer, wine and liquor, as well as all the other things you'd expect in a grocery store, located just off the highway in Isla Verde, very near the airport. You'd have to go right by it to get to the Pan American pier. There is also a duty free store right at the Pan American pier. I've not purchased from there so cannot comment on prices or selection.
