Bee Dub Posted February 9, 2005 #1 Share Posted February 9, 2005  Travelling on Diamond Princess late May '05 and wondering if it's possible to charge our camera batteries in the cabin power outlets

bjboothman Posted February 9, 2005 #3 Share Posted February 9, 2005 If your charger is one of those big chunky plugs like mine, you may want to bring a powerstrip/extension - as they may not fit into the small space.
Sincity Posted February 9, 2005 #4 Share Posted February 9, 2005 Yes. But if it is "chunky" you can only do one at a time.
Toto2Kansas Posted February 9, 2005 #5 Share Posted February 9, 2005 If you have 110 at home, you won't have a problem, the plug ins are all 110 power in the cabin.
Flipper133 Posted February 9, 2005 #6 Share Posted February 9, 2005 We were on Sapphire (Sister ship to diamond) in January cruising Auckland to Sydney. Took Australian 4 outlet power board and a pin converter to plug into US style outlet. 110v is no problem as nearly all modern camera/laptop/mobile phone chargers can be used in 110-250v range but check back of your unit. We kept 2 cameras and 2 mobile phones on charge whenever necessary (perhaps I could of missed the phones as my mobile phone account is a whopper  !!!) cheers
relevart Posted February 9, 2005 #7 Share Posted February 9, 2005 Charged the batteries for the digital camera almost every night on the Star for a 30 day cruise. Not a problem. The charger held the 4 batteries I needed for the camera and it worked in the outlet of the Star Princess.
whale-watcher Posted February 9, 2005 #8 Share Posted February 9, 2005 On our last cruise we brought along a short extension cord with a three-outlet adaptor on the end. This made it a cinch to recharge everything at once without worrying about bulky plugs.

doctrd Posted February 12, 2005 #10 Share Posted February 12, 2005 Good advise on power strip. Also, good to have spare batteries for all day excursions. I get great price on Ebay for batteries. Just paid $7.95 plus shipping for 2 batteries for my digital camera. They wanted $21.95 for ONE at a local store!
