briller Posted February 9, 2005 #1 Share Posted February 9, 2005 Visited Stingray City last week and went with Moby Dick Tours. mobydicktours.com Moby Dick Tours has been in operation less than 6 months. Great guys, good boat. +/-25 people on the boat. Cruise ship booked tours had boats with 100-150 people on them. Highly recommend. cbilbrough Posted February 11, 2005 #3 Share Posted February 11, 2005 Try Nativeway - my tour last week had 4 people on it. It was like having our own personal guide.
Kitchenditcher Posted February 13, 2005 #4 Share Posted February 13, 2005 Glad to hear that you had a positive experience. We are booked with Moby Dick for February 21st and can't wait!! They are the cheapest that I found and Mark responded extremely quickly to my emails.
JaKetravels Posted February 13, 2005 #5 Share Posted February 13, 2005 I agree, stay away from the excursions that hold a lot of passengers. Those boats looked so crowded I can't imagine being on them for the ride to and back from Sting Ray City. We went for a smaller excursion with red sails out of rum point but I believe they run out of the westin too. Some of the boats other than red sails looked rather run down at Sting Ray so you want a ship with nice amenities like being able to hose down after, have a drink of water etc....There are many to choose from, it can be confusing. Guess you have to go with what works for you time wise. The catarmaran boats looked like a lot of fun too...
MizzCard Posted February 13, 2005 #6 Share Posted February 13, 2005 This was the only tour I booked through the cruise ship. It's been paid for our April cruise. Can I cancel the tour with RCCL?
JaKetravels Posted February 13, 2005 #7 Share Posted February 13, 2005 I can't say as I was not on a cruise but stayed on the island for the week. I am hearing good things about the nativeway tour that some have taken the included snorkeling, sting ray city and rum point with lunch. This sounds awesome to me. Ask others for details bit for the time involved you are getting to do and see alot for the money and you will love Rum Point.
