not2old Posted July 23, 2010 #1 Share Posted July 23, 2010 Can someone advise us on taxi rates to St Martins? We are going to Peggy's Cove while in Halifax and would like to see St Martins while in St John. We have to be back to our ship by 2-2:15pm. After seeing Peggy's Cove, would St Martins be similar, a quaint fishing town, or something different? Torn between this and just walking around St John... Taxis charge $50 per hour $USD for personal tours. As for a straight fare to village with no waiting then another taxi back - call Diamond Taxi at 506-648-8888 for quote - it would be expensive because it's a 50 minute drive in each direction. I suggest www.freedomtours.com as an alternative.

vickila Posted July 24, 2010 #5 Share Posted July 24, 2010 Thanks! I'll post it on the roll call! It's a good 50 minute ride to the caves -- we did Freedom Tours and they were superb. We had George as our guide and he summed up our interests immediately and walked out to the caves with all of us -- the information he has is worth the extra money. And it's a large company so if something happens to the vehicle -- you're not stuck! It's far. Also stopped at the lighthouse and covered bridges (good bathroom stop).
