dgossett Posted July 23, 2010 #1 Share Posted July 23, 2010 I was getting ready to book cars at both of these ports and noticed we dont get into Juneau until 2pm and leave at 10pm, Prince Rupert get there at 4pm and leave at 10pm. Would we have enough time to rent a car and see the sights or should I just look for excrusions. Any ideas would be great. Thanks Debbie
BIG_Steve Posted July 24, 2010 #2 Share Posted July 24, 2010 What kind of things do you want to do in Juneau? Knowing that might help.
Putterdude Posted July 24, 2010 #3 Share Posted July 24, 2010 In Prince Rupert I would recommend trip to the North Pacific Cannery which is now a National Historic site in Canada. link
dgossett Posted July 24, 2010 Author #4 Share Posted July 24, 2010 Sight seeing as much of the area as possible. No hiking or climbing. We thought about the glacier and the tram in Juneau if at all possible. The idea of the cannery shounds good. Maybe seeing some of the wildlife in the area. streetclem Posted July 25, 2010 #5 Share Posted July 25, 2010 I would recommend a whale watch out of Juneau. We booked one through Princess and saw humpback whales, sea lions, eagles and a harbor seal! Also take the bus to Mendanhall Glacier. It is beautiful and there are trails to hike/walk. The tram is pricey but on a clear day the views are beautiful. The eagle at the raptor center is not to be missed.
