Britbrie Posted July 25, 2010 Author #26 Share Posted July 25, 2010 After lunch, we watched the sail away and everyone was pretty tired so we went back to the room and took quick naps. We woke up, and went to the Oxford Bar to listen to island music. They had a nice little set up at the bar: We walked up to the lido deck and I wanted to get a quick picture of the strange decor... so here you go: There were so many game shows that I wanted to see, but they were all scheduled during our late seating dinner. So, we got ready for dinner and headed down to the Paris dining room... My DF had the sushi sampler for an appetizer: My appetizer consisted of 2 shrimp cocktails (no picture needed). While my mom had French Onion soup and a salad: For my entree I had the Sicilian Style chicken which wasn't too good in my opinion.
Britbrie Posted July 25, 2010 Author #27 Share Posted July 25, 2010 My DF was really hungry this night, and ate 2 plates of fish and a Flank Steak. It was time for desert, when the Maitre d came and announced show time... After the show, we ate our strawberry cheesecake and left the dining room. We went down to the Rome Lounge for showtime, which was the Showcase of the Stars. There were so many amazing voices on the ship! After the show, we walked the Promenade deck and went back to the room to go to bed. Britbrie Posted July 25, 2010 Author #28 Share Posted July 25, 2010 We woke up fairly early this morning, and were scheduled to arrive at 9 am. The MDR was serving breakfast, so we took full advantage of that! For my mom's breakfast, she had a cheese omelet and bacon. My DF and I, both had the eggs benedict: (which is AMAZING) My DF was very excited to go out into Cozumel, so we gathered our stuff and walked down the pier. We met up with our tour operators, and within 10-15 minutes we were sitting on an air conditioned bus. The ride to Playa Mia was short, and within 12 minutes we were walking in the entrance. Here are some pictures of the shopping area off of the pier:
Britbrie Posted July 25, 2010 Author #29 Share Posted July 25, 2010 And, some pictures of Playa Mia: At Playa Mia, there was a shopping area, beach chairs, kayaks, paddle boats, a water glacier, hammocks, unlimited bar access, and a buffet. It was a great value! The paddle boats were definitely a work out, but the kayak was fun. Getting the boats is a little unorganized, and they never know who is next to get one... so it's pretty much first come first serve. Be careful of the shops! They try to sell you stuff way pricier than they should, and even try to sell fake jewelry! There was a guy walking around with Parrots, and a guy walking around with an Iguana for pictures:
Britbrie Posted July 25, 2010 Author #30 Share Posted July 25, 2010 This is the buffet sitting area: Where they hold the cooking class: (which we did when we were in Cozumel before... it is awesome!) Britbrie Posted July 25, 2010 Author #31 Share Posted July 25, 2010 When we were waiting on our bus to arrive, there were two or three iguanas running around. Once back at the pier, we decided to go to Fat Tuesdays, and Three Amigos. At Fat Tuesdays: A fountain on the way to Three Amigos:
Britbrie Posted July 25, 2010 Author #32 Share Posted July 25, 2010 Once at Three Amigos, there were very tall tables that people had to get on chairs to climb in. The Ecstasy was in this port at the same time so here are our two ships side by side: Once back on board, we took showers and got ready for dinner. We went up to Deck 10 to watch for runners, and lo and behold... there were two! The poor couple barely made it! Lucky for them, the ship waited and we were off! After sail away, my mom did some laundry and we went off to the casino. Once she was finished with laundry, we went to dinner in the Paris Dining Room. For an Appetizer tonight, I had 2 Shrimp Cocktails and Filet Mignon for an entree: My DF had the Red Snapper: For dessert, I had the apple Pie... Britbrie Posted July 25, 2010 Author #33 Share Posted July 25, 2010 The maitre d came out, and announced the showtime... which was really weird... We concluded our night with a trip to the casino to donate money to Carnival. I finally won $25 dollars out of that coin flipper machine, only after donating $60 to winning it. So, word of advice... DO NOT PLAY that game! Anyhow, after gambling, we went to the room to go to bed. The laundry Room:
Britbrie Posted July 25, 2010 Author #34 Share Posted July 25, 2010 We woke up around 8 am, and went down to the MDR for breakfast. This morning, I had eggs benedict and the baked apple. After breakfast, we went to the Rome Lounge to play $1,199 tax free bingo. I decided not to play, but my mom and DF had fun. DF was 1 number away! We ran up to the casino to enter into the slot tournament after bingo. In the qualifying round, I didn't get up on the board, but DF did! He was number 1!! Shortly after, we went back down to the Rome Lounge to watch the Love and Marriage show. In the middle of the show, DF had to run up to the casino to play in the final round. He ended up coming in 3rd overall... which is good, but not what we wanted! After the show, it was time for the Win a Cruise Raffle: It took them 6 times to finally find a winner. We weren't it... obviously, because I'm am very unlucky. After that, we went up to the Promenade deck so that DF could get some sushi: While sitting near the casino, we met a guy named Adam who was pretty cool. He sat there and talked to us for an hour and a half. We invited him to dinner with us, which he quickly agreed too. After hanging out, my mom was pretty hungry because we had skipped lunch so we went and got some pizza.
Britbrie Posted July 25, 2010 Author #35 Share Posted July 25, 2010 Pictures of the Lido Deck: After pizza, we headed to the room to get ready for dinner. (we sound like pigs! haha. We only ate 1 piece! Don't judge!) We went through the photo shop to make sure that there were no more pictures to purchase, and then went down to dinner. We were surprised that Adam had shown up! He had a lot of fun with us, and was a great dinner guest. For an appetizer, I had the Bing Cherry Soup and a Shrimp Cocktail: For My entree, I had the Grilled Shrimp: My mom had some kind of pasta, which she didn't care for: and for dessert: BAKED ALASKA! Britbrie Posted July 25, 2010 Author #36 Share Posted July 25, 2010 After dinner, we took a picture with our server: and then went once again to the casino to cash out. After the casino, my DF, Adam and I went to the Quest show. It was a pretty dirty show, and definitely not okay for anyone under 18! After the show, Adam left us and went back to his room. We went down to the internet cafe to use up the remainder of our minutes. Once they were gone, we went up to the room and went to sleep.
Britbrie Posted July 25, 2010 Author #37 Share Posted July 25, 2010 We woke up this morning around 7 am and got ready. The MDR was serving breakfast, so we went down there. DF and I got our usual, and my mom got the cheese omelet... I also had a banana, which was cut up pretty neat. After breakfast, we went to the Lobby and got in line to exit the ship. I took one last picture on the ship: Once in the terminal, we were sent to the luggage hall and left to fend for ourselves. We couldn't find 2 of our bags, and found them in the lost zone tag area. Customs was simple, and we were out within minutes. View of the parking garage: After fighting with the traffic, we finally made it out and I snapped one last picture of the trip: Thank you for reading, I hope you guys have enjoyed it! Britbrie Posted July 25, 2010 Author #42 Share Posted July 25, 2010 The Quest on Carnival??? I know RCI does this game but what is the difference with the way Carnvial does it? I have no idea how RCI does it. haha. But, they basically gave everyone a numbered card, and you had to either find things or do things. They had some pretty dirty stuff. Willie T Posted July 25, 2010 #43 Share Posted July 25, 2010 We're looking forward to this cruise too. The pictures were great. It never looked crowded, almost empty, did you take the pictures on port days, or right after boarding? It's fun to explore a new ship, the only thing that I raise my eyebrows over is the tiered deck chairs around the lido pool. Not bad, just different for me. I'am used to seeing everything on one level. We like to hang out a lot at the aft pool mostly. I swim a little sometimes, and he NEVER does. LOL The food looked really good! I'am ready! Well, except for a hinky shoulder this week, I'am lucky to just type! It will be all better by Sept. Thanks for the review Brittney. SDFISHINGROD Posted July 25, 2010 #46 Share Posted July 25, 2010 Cool pics and nice review. I will be sailing on the Triumph in August and you gave me a nice preview of what to expect. Your DF seems like a seafood fan and I will probably order the same as him.

We are platinum, so we will be off rght after the self assist people. THANKS IN ADVANCE and glad you had a great time. Well, usually we sail VIP but this time we were in a balcony room... so we were in Zone 11. We left around the time that zone 3 was getting off. They were SOOOOO behind according to their schedule they provided the night before. So, we got off around 8:45 am and were home in Baton Rouge, LA by 10:30 am. The most time consuming thing was going through Customs... they were veryyyy slow. Have a great trip!!!
