kennysdad Posted July 25, 2010 #1 Share Posted July 25, 2010 Hi, We have just tried to book a holiday on the Ventura for my wife and I and our 8 month old baby, but unfortunately the baby numbers have already been allocated. We have found alternative cruises on the Oceana or Azura but are wondering if they are still baby friendly? THey both have night nurseries but we don't want to look out of place and be the only couple on the ship with a baby! Can anybody put our minds at rest and offer some advice? Thanks
CASPALL Posted July 25, 2010 #2 Share Posted July 25, 2010 I think either ship would be good. I've seen plenty of babies on Oceana. Go for it! you will certainly not look out of place. Caryl
cclarke12 Posted July 26, 2010 #3 Share Posted July 26, 2010 Either ship would be fine. We took our daughter on Ventura when she was 9 months old and it was a really easy holiday. We are taking her on Azura in just over 3 weeks time (she is now 14 months). The P&O night nursery is brilliant and they also do a children's tea around 5pm ish, but you can also taken them to the main dining room of course. You can ask P&O how many children are on each of the other two sailings you are looking at if you are interested. We did this before booking Ventura as we were going during term time and were worried about being the only people with small kids - as it happened there were lots of pre-schoolers on board and it was great. Azura (like Ventura) has a dedicated play room for the under 2s during the day (you do have to stay with them though). We prefer bigger/newer ships so would probably choose Azura over Oceana, but others will disagree and I am sure you would have a great time on either. When you book do ask for a baby bath, bottle warmer etc. if you need them as they will supply. Have a great time whichever cruise you go for :)
Funky Face Painter, UK Posted July 29, 2010 #4 Share Posted July 29, 2010 I would go for Azura, the new shiny ship! Mind you, not trying her out until 21st Sept, so it's only what I have read. Been on Oceana as well, but in my opinion, it's a bit tired. The cabins are a bit smaller on Oceana than other P&O ships.
