New to Oceana

My wife and I are in our 80's and mobile. We are interested in the Amazon Cruise out of Miami for 24 days, Is it one we would be happy with? We usually go on about 2/3 of the excursions.

AllanD-

Is the Amazon itinerary something that interests you and your wife? Do you enjoy being around people who don't need to get dressed up to have a good time? Do you like the opportunity to choose from several venues serving fabulous food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner? Do you like to engage in conversation with like-minded travel-loving people? Do you find that you don't need to be entertained 24/7? Will you be happy that there's not an ice rink, rock climbing wall, or surf pool on your ship? If you said YES to the above, then I think you will LOVE Oceania.

The only thing I will mention, and please don't take offense, is that you are a looong way from good medical facilities should you need them. Of course, the ship has a doctor and staff, but it wouldn't be a good cruise to have medical issues on. Otherwise, it is a fascinating cruise - biggest insects I have ever seen!

Keep your bacony door closed on that segment of the trip.

with that in mind..a great piece of mind extra to carry if you travel

( not only to such exotic out of the way places , but even closer to home)is from a company called medjet assist..

we have had it for a few years now and while we have never had to use it for the few hunded dollars a year it costs is sure worth knowing if we have to it is there.

Covers evacuation to your hospital of choice.. from anywhere in the world..should that ever be an issue..and if only we had it when my husband got sick in Puerto Rico for 11 hospital days after the cruise..since he was in a hospital, travel insurance felt that he was being taken care of..me had to stay in Intercontinental for those extra 11 days until they would release him.hotel.$$$$$$$$$$..with this insurance extra.. could have medical jetted us back to hospital in L.A.

check it out..just another good piece of info.
