Hotels in Miami

Head on over to the EAST COAST DEPARTURES Board /Florida. You'll find it on the opening page of topics. You'll find tons of info re hotels there. Any hotels in the Miami area with shuttles will be near the airport.

If you stay in the downtown area, it is only a 10$ cab ride or so to the port.

Here's the opening page. Just start scanning Miami hotel threads.http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=495

If you are looking to save money, don't worry about free shuttles. Just use Priceline (if one or two in your party) or Hotwire (if three to four) and you will be able to get a nice hotel for so cheap, that even with cab fare you will be way ahead. Cab fare from downtown Miami, Southbeach or Airport area is not expensive and that way you pick when you leave.

There are not very many hotels that offer the free shuttle to the port in Miami, and those that do aren't that nice. I agree with Gonzo, use priceline or lastminute travel to get a great deal on a hotel and the cost of the taxi will more than pay for itself. We got the Intercontinental Miami, which is right on the bay and you can see your ship come in through lastminutetravel.com. This is a 5 star hotel and we were able to get it for $84. Just put downtown Miami, 5 star in your search and it should be the first one that pops up. When you go to the details page at the bottom there's a map and if you click on birds eye view you will be able to see the top of the hotel. It will say Chopin Plaza. Very cool indeed. This hotel is normally over $300.

Enjoy and good luck.

Stayed at the Best Western on LeJune just outside the Maimi airport in Feb 10 before my last cruise. They run several free shuttles but you cannot sign up until 24 hours before. This place is not fancy and may not be the quality that some expect but this is a great place if you are just spending one night because it is close to the airport but somewhat isolated. It was around $100. It is clean, surprisingly quiet and provided a pretty good continental breakfast. Additinally there is a Bennigans in the parking lot that had pretty good food and drink.
