First time Royal cruiser

Recommended Posts

I have sailed on Carnival and Princess. We enjoy both lines and know we will love RC also. Each cruise line is a bit different and I have a some questions, so I thought I would come here and ask the experts... lol.

We are planning on an Oct Med cruise in 2011.

If we book now and the price drops, can we get that diff applied towards what we owe or as OBC?

Once we book, can we book and pay for excursions now (if they are offered this early)? Or do we have to wait until the cruise to pay for our excursions?

When I call to make our reservations, am I just getting an operator or am I talking to a "vacation specialist" (not sure what you call them).

Thanks in advance for your help. I will probably drive you nuts between now and our cruise... lol.

New rules went into effect on May 17th. You can get the price drop if it is before final payment. If it's after the final payment date (75 days before your cruise), then you are close to S.O.L. IF there happens to be a higher category that is now the price of your old category because of the price drop, they MAY give you an upgrade.

Unlike Princess, you pay at the moment that you book excursions, not later on board.

You will get a "CVP" - Certified Vacation Planner. Most of them are good. A few aren't. A few are outstanding. 800-859-7225

Honestly, I like this option better. I am one of those that likes everything paid for beforehand!
