Progreso???Things to do with a 6 year old

My dh and I will be taking our family on the Ecstasy in Sept. We will have our 6 year old grandson. Anyone have ideas on things to do in Prgreso that he would enjoy? Thanks for your help!

We went with our seven year old son this past February. When you get off the boat, you can go into town and take a double decker bus for a tour of the city, my son loved it.

 

Then after that, we went to the public beach and sat at a table in front of Buddy's restaurant. Our son played in the water, and sand for several hours, and had a great time.

 

It's not Cozumel, and a lot of vendors will walk up to you, but just say no thank you, and they will walk away. You should check out the port of call boards.

Thanks Txmom. We have been to Cozumel several times, 1st time in Progreso. I have not heard great things about the port, so thanks for the info.
