qldgal Posted August 9, 2010 #1 Share Posted August 9, 2010 I am hoping someone can help me with a query re internet access on the Poesia. We will have our laptop and am wondering how good the connection is and if we are able to access it in our cabin. Also how is the cost and what leads do we need to take. Hubby still has to contact home re running your own business. No rest for the wicked!!!! Any help appreciated.
Debbie-in-florida Posted August 10, 2010 #2 Share Posted August 10, 2010 I took my laptop on the Poesia last February. Bring an ethernet cable as it is not wireless in the cabins. They rent the cables for $15. The connection was not bad, and the cost comparable to other lines. Oddly, the ethernet port is by the TV, and the only electrical outlet is the opposite corner of the cabin. For short uses this is okay as you can use the battery of the laptop. Otherwise, you have cords stretched across the cabin diagonally and I could only use the laptop on the bed. Good luck.

mowb07 Posted August 11, 2010 #4 Share Posted August 11, 2010 Also, I think its worth mentioning that the internet connection is better when in port as opposed to when at sea - but this is no different from any other cruiseline unfortunately. Not sure where your cruise is going, but we had no trouble connecting to the internet on any day in the mornings (afternoons were a different story!) in the west med - except on sea day and in turkish ports for some odd reason.
