1midsun Posted August 13, 2010 #10 Share Posted August 13, 2010 Can anyone recommend a portable dock? with speakers? I'd be interested. I got one at Walmart for about $25-$30 I know that you can get ones that cost alot more, but I just use mine at work, and it has pretty decent sound Enjoy your cruise!!! jhale Posted August 13, 2010 #11 Share Posted August 13, 2010 The Owner's Suites on the Fantasy class ships have iPod docks... However I've only stayed in one once, so for the standard rooms you're more likely to find me in, I went to Wal-Mart and picked up a battery operated speaker system for about $20. It's a little bigger than a soda can, and works great.
Sierrachik Posted August 13, 2010 #12 Share Posted August 13, 2010 Can anyone recommend a portable dock? with speakers? I'd be interested. Altec Lansing makes a great portable speaker system for ipods, several models generally available. Most will run on batteries or ac. Great sound. LRene Posted August 13, 2010 #17 Share Posted August 13, 2010 Another vote for the Altec Lansing. I've had mine a few years and it folds up to about an 1" thick and 10" inches long. So easy to pack and a great sound but not real inexpensive. We use it in the bedroom when it's not on a cruise though. Built in rechargeable battery and will last 4-5 hours at the beach. amylee1178 Posted August 13, 2010 #18 Share Posted August 13, 2010 I've got the iHome speaker system thingy. It doesn't charge my iPhone or Zune, but it'll play tunes loud enough so we can have some music in the cabin if we want. We mostly use it in the car on long trips (the FM transmitter on trips is HORRIBLE).
