ocean kayaks at beach clubs??

Has anyone actually rented the ocean kayaks at any of the beach clubs?

Was it easy to paddle?

Can you really SEE marine life below you in the water?

We are not experienced paddlers, so will it be safe for us(early 50's)

Thanks for any info! We will be on the Valor in Oct,2010
