if we claim a spot in front of pedros and rent chairs and decide to go take a dip on the other side if we get brave. is it far away since our belongings will be on our chairs on non nude side?

From what I remember it's not that far, maybe one or two lounge areas away. There was a great panoramic photo somewhere on this St Martin page which would give you a better perspective. You may want to talk to your lounge chair attendant to let them know to watch your stuff or see if they have a locker rental thing, or just to save your seats.

I say go for it. You're on vacation and you'll never know if you don't try it..

Good luck, have a great cruise.

i doubt we will be able to be close to our things if we wanted to go swimming on club o side and had chairs at pedros....dont know if we want to rent chairs at club o and have to stay on that side all day..if we did decide to do that, do they rent chairs and umbrella to non hotel guests?

Note that many, if not most, of the chairs at Pedro's are on the clothing optional portion of the beach -- that doesn't begin at the Club Orient property boundry, but at the line of rocks out into the water in front of Pedro's.

From the last chair at Pedro's to the first chair at Club Orient is often 10 feet or less.

At CO, two chairs and an umbrella were recently $18.

At Pedro's, two chairs, umbrella and two drinks were recently $15.

so you are saying if we rent from pedros, we will be in the nude section and away from the gawkers and be able to be totally nude? pedros has chairs on the opposite side of the rocks from the bar/restaurant? thanks for the help

You will never be away from the cruise gawkers, they roam up and down that beach all day. The further down the Club Orient beach you are the less you will encounter. After the first 50 ft or so the novelty wares off for the gawkers. Just find a chair further down Club Orient.

If you "get brave" and go nekkid at the end of your visit you will wish you would have done it sooner. So to avoid that, get a chair at the end of Club Orient away from most people, strip down and enjoy your entire stay in the buff. I guarantee you will enjoy it.

All beaches on the island are open to the public. The operators, no matter where, will only be too happy to rent loungers, umbrellas, etc.

If you drop your stuff on the Club O portion, try to set up in the middle by The Perch bar which has 2/1 specials from 2:30 to 3:30. Surreal experience standing in line with a whole bunch of nekkid people waiting to order your booze discussing all kinds of things.:D

Wear dark wrap around sunglasses.

No beach vendors hawking stuff are allowed on the Club O portion of the beach.

also, last question.....do you just pick any lounge chairs that are available and sit? or do you have to go to a stand or something and pay for them? and you do get to choose your location, right? the chair person doesnt put you wherever he wants, right?

thanks guys and gals...6 more days!

Yes, just grab any open chair, but if you're at Club Orient, proper, check for a reserved tag attached to the headrail.

If you want the chairs moved, the beach boys will do that for you.

During high season it can get crowded along the length of the clothing optional section, but I can't imagine crowding during your upcoming visit.

No waitresses, but if you rent from Pedro's, then George will take drink (or even lunch) orders and deliver to you.
