Grand Cayman-best excursion for Newlyweds?

Recommended Posts

I'm getting married on an upcoming Carnival cruise in October and was wondering what excursions are the best in Grand Cayman.

We will be there from 7 am-4 pm.

Our cruise is also stopping in Montego Bay and Cozumel. We plan on being scuba certified prior to going.

Any suggestions for Grand Cayman excursions and the best place to scuba dive out of those locations would be appreciated!

We are open to any type of excursions, we are thrill-seekers but we also like to relax!

Of those three ports, scuba is far better in Cozumel and Grand Cayman than in Montego Bay.

Cozumel offers drift diving in a current. Grand Cayman offers wall diving aside sheer drop offs. Both are somewhat more advanced aspects of diving that may prove a bit challenging for a new diver.

All my friends who SCUBA say Cozumel is the best place to go for that.

In GC, definitely check out the Stingrays. Lots of fun if you haven't done it before. There are a lot of different tours, and some take you to Rum Point, which is supposed to be really nice.

Well, first off congrats on the marriage! That's exciting in and of itself.

The first port my wife and I stopped at on our honeymoon cruise (Carnival Valor) was Grand Cayman. We did the 4x4 Jeep Adventure With Lunch. We booked it through Carnival's website, though we could have saved $60, if we went directly to the tour operator and booked it. It was our first cruise though and we were super concerned about being left behind, so we didn't book any non-cruise sponsored excursions. I think the extra money was worth the peace of mind we had though...

Here's the link to that excursion through Carnival's website:

Here's the link to the exact same excursion through Resort Sports Ltd. Website (they operated the tour):

It's cool, you pretty much get to see a significant part of the island by Jeep (Jeep Wranger, automatic transmission) driving on the left side of the road. We stopped by Barkers National Park, did some off-road driving (nothing too bad), stopped at this Rum Shop (sampled various drinks and rum products), stopped by Hell and then drove back to where we started. We finished off with lunch and some time at the beach where you could relax, snorkel on your own or do some other activities.

Here are a few pics I took from that excursion:
