Is there anything to do near the Carnival pier?

Thinking of skipping a shore excurision and wondering if there is anything within walking distance of the cruise pier. Maybe for a little shopping, sightseeing etc.

The Havensight Mall is right at the pier. Lots of stores and variety. The Ship Wreck Bar is right across the street-- good drinks and food. The Paradise Tramway is right across the street to a viewing area on top of a mountain-- good drinks and food up top. If you want , there's even a K Mart 4-5 blocks away for the cheapest booze on the island. :D

The taxi ride from the downtown/shopping area back to the pier was only $4 (last July,) so I would assume it would be the same the opposite direction.
