Atlantis Day Pass

It depends on which pass you pay for. The Aquaventure includes acess to everything. There are beach day passes that don't include the water park. The pools and water at the part are very warm. The ocean mnight be a little chilly, but we have gotten in without any problem. The beach at Atlantis is in a cove so it's fairly calm. Otherwise the waves can be quite rough.

I am cruising in December on the Norwegian Sun, I think my husband and I are considering the aquaventure for $149(I think) each. Is it worth that for 6 hours? Don't get me wrong I think Atlantis looks freaking amazing. I'd just like to hear from those who have been.

I just got off the Carnival Miracle yesterday. We were skeptical about the excursion through the ship because it was $160 and it left at 8:30am and was only 5 hours (it did include a lunch voucher). So we decided to wing it and it worked out great. We took a taxi ($4 per person) to the Atlantis around 11am. Right in the middle of the casino there is a desk where you can purchase tickets for the aquarium and waterpark. It was $110 per adult for the day which gives you access to the water park, beach and aquariums. We spent our entire time in the water park! It was so much fun and the resort was empty. No lines for anything, plenty of beach chairs, etc. We refrained from eating there as a burger is $8 and sandwiches are $13, and a soda was $4. They offer lockers for a fee. It was $12 for a large locker for the day (they also had a small and medium ones for less). They have showers and changing rooms as well in the locker area. We can't wait to go back except next time we are slathering on a lot more sunscreen. Also, don't forget to bring watershoes!

I went to the Atlantis site but I do not see them selling these passes to day trippers (I do see passes for the dolphin swim, etc. - but they probably have an exclusive for the ship passengers on our dates - and reviews are poor so we are not interested).

We might be interested in seeing the Aquarium (is that the "Dig"?) as well as a day pass to the beach, and looking for the cost. This is for a date this November. It might be interesting for us to see the hotel as we will be in Dubai next year where their other resort is located.

How far is the walk from where the ship docks (we are in good shape)?

The only other disadvantage of pre-paying for passes is that for the first time in all of our travels, our cruise two weeks ago (Canada/New England) missed three of the ports due to Hurricane Earl warning. For these short cruises we elect cruise ship insurance (for the medivac, Cancel for Any Reason with a percentage back for a future cruise, and cheap price). The cruise insurance won't refund excursions not purchased through them as other policies will.

Question has to do with the cost of the beach pass, can one pre-purchase, and is the only way through a phone call? Also, which casual restaurants or delli's are accessible with the beach pass? The web site shows various restaurants but I can't tell where they are located.

Thanks.

I heard the park only sells a limited number of day passes and am worried about getting there on my own and no passes being available. We will be there 11/11 so not high season by any means, but would be very disappointed to arrive and not have any passes available.

Does anyone know whether the excursion offered by CCL includes a locker?

You can only buy the day passes at Atlantis and they are first come, first serve so if it is crowded then they might sell out. I think if you are going in the off season you might not have a problem with this but I would check and see how many ships are in port that day. The other option besides the shore exursion is book a room at the Comfort Suites to get the passes to Atlantis. Sometimes this is cheaper depending on when you go.

I just called and the "Beach Pass" is $60.00. It includes the "Dig" Aquarium and access to the beach and towel, plus a voucher for lunch (hamburger, cheeseburger).

Celebrity is only charging $72.00 (without lunch), but it included narrated transportation and voucher for ferry back. I am not sure the difference in price warrants not going with the cruise line.

Sorry, I meant a day pass for the Aquaventure. I don't know about the other passes but this one get's you access to the waterpark, beaches, Digs, aquarium. I think it's like $110pp to buy it at Atlantis.

Right, but the OP asked about passes in general, so I was giving info on the beach and Aquarium option. Since the prices keep changing, I wanted to give accurate info from today based on my call.

I just checked Atlantis website, if you wanted you could get a room there for the night for 4 people including passes for waterpark for 421.00 including taxes. This would give you the option of staying until the next morning if you wanted, and you would have a room to go to take a break during the day. It's a short taxi ride so you could even go back to the ship for dinner and return at night. The other option is the Comfort Suites across the street. Their room rate also includes the waterpark.

I stayed at Atlantis 2 years ago for a few nights, and the waterpark is a blast. Never seen anything like it. I'm not sure how late it is open though.

I sure wouldn't mind going back

Does anyone know the hours for the waterpark at Atlantis?? I was interested in how late they operated. Are taxis still available in the evening??

The waterpark is open from 10am - 6pm in the summer months, in the winter months it closes at 5pm. It get's dark around 5:20 starting in December ..

Pools open at 9am and stay open until 7 in the summer and 5:30 in the winter.

Taxi's are availabe anytime, day or nite.
