martini girl Posted August 20, 2010 #1 Share Posted August 20, 2010 can anyone tell me if there is still a caribbean band on the serenade? our last couple cruises were on celebrity and they don't have island music anymore.
Jimnbigd Posted August 20, 2010 #2 Share Posted August 20, 2010 I'm sure there will be a band of at least 2 people, but the days of real steel drum music seem to be over, darn it. :(
NordicPrince Posted August 21, 2010 #3 Share Posted August 21, 2010 Yes, they had a pool band but was a 4 piece guitar and drum band with singer playing appropirate cruising songs, not the steel band of old. But still very nice.
Tanderra Posted August 21, 2010 #4 Share Posted August 21, 2010 The Caribbean band on Serenade at the moment is called ' Hot Spices ' :) Christopher (drummer and our family member), Sean (guitar), Curtis (singer and keyboard) and Micol (keyboard)...although they all sing :)

Do you get a discount on cruising? :D We're going on the Serenade in November, my husband plays lead guitar in a band - he has a travel guitar he'll be taking with him (can't go a day w/o practicing you know) - I'm sure he'll be checking out their equipment and talking to them! swtygrl Posted August 21, 2010 #6 Share Posted August 21, 2010 We were on Serenade last week and LOVED Hot Spices! We were on the pool deck partying every time they played.
