Is the Narrow Guage Railroad a nice port trip in Portland?

I have been exploring options in Portland and have considered the hour Narrow Guage Rail trip along the coast. Any suggestions as the best way to see the beautiful scenery with just a few hours during a port stop?

It is only a 3 mile roundtrip, you won't see much beautiful scenery, JMHO. Be sure to read all the CC threads I posted for suggestions.
