drew sailbum Posted September 27, 2010 #26 Share Posted September 27, 2010 Island Marketing, as the name implies, is a marketing and booking agency. They do not run trips themselves. They make bookings with local toura operators and take a cut of the fee. Some small operators may choose to accept bookings exclusively through Island Marketing - effectively using them as their front office staff. These operators rely on Island Marketing to reply to emails, answer phone calls, make reservations, and otherwise coordinate the administrative side of things. This allows a one-man operation to focus on the guest experience side of things exclusively.

vfb2girls Posted September 28, 2010 #28 Share Posted September 28, 2010 I have had no trouble booking my excursions through this company, so far all of the excursions we have taken have been great. For me I just like the convenience of just using one company.

afairbro Posted October 6, 2010 #30 Share Posted October 6, 2010 I just got back from my cruise. I booked 3 of 4 shore excursions with Island Marketing. We didn't stop in GC due to winds, so I am expecting a refund of my deposit, it's been a week and hasn't happened yet, I need to bug them. In Cozumel we went to Nachi Cocum beach.....loved it. I had to ask the bartender though to put more booze in our drinks. In Belize we did Altun Ha Ruins, only 4 people in our group, it still went, Jenny, our tour guide was great. This is good to hear, sorry you miss GC, we also missed this port due to high winds and had to have a refund from IM, if I remember correctly it took a almost 14 days to get the money refunded, I think I had to e-mailed them when we got back from the cruise. We also are doing Altu Ha Ruinds with them so I am happy to hear that the tour was good. And I love Nachi Cocum!
Kim.cc Posted October 10, 2010 #32 Share Posted October 10, 2010 The same thing happened to us 2 years ago in Grand Cayman. Çheck your confirmation but I know we needed to reply to it and we got our deposit back right away

merees17 Posted October 18, 2010 #34 Share Posted October 18, 2010 Has anyone used Island Marketing for excursions in Grand Caymen? Prices look pretty good. Worth it or not? We have used them 4 times, never a problem.
