Getting a passport stamp in Canada

Hi, we'll be travlelling to St. John NB and Halifax NS on the Celebrity Summit Aug 29, 2010. Is there any place in either port where we can get our passport stamped?

Often the Passenger Service desk can arrange to have it stamped for you if you are willing to leave your passport with them. Or you can take it ashore with you and ask a Canada Customs officer to stamp it...they are happy to oblige if they have a stamp with them or they will direct you to someone who has a stamp.

The Customs and Immigration building in Saint John is directly across the street from the cruise terminal exit. (entry is 1 block up on Prince William Street). A local ambassador that greets you upon arrival in the terminal should be able to let you know if and how to get your passport stamped.

What a great idea! I always have my National Park Passport books with me, but hadn't thought about having my REAL passport stamped! Thank you!! I will plan to have it stamped in Halifax, Saint John, Charlottetown, Cornerbrook, Sydney and Sept-Iles.

Word to the wise, bring your passports ashore. We needed them in Halifax and Saint John to get back onboard...they said any government-issued photo identity so many just used driver's licenses. While this worked for many, driver's licenses meant a little bit more scrutiny from port officials plus if God forbid, you ever missed the boat, you'd need your passport to make alternative arrangements.
