which ship?

new to Carnival- have cruised RCL, Celebrity, Princess and NCL. Which line would you say is most like Carnival? Which Carnival ship is the least glitzy? I'm not really into the neon and bright garish decor that I associate w/Carnival (perhaps this is not the case?). Is there an adult pool on theses ships?

Thanks in advance!

Carnival is most like RCL. Hmmmm no glitzy. I haven't been on all the ships yet but of the ones I have been on Valor was the least glitzy. It's decorated in a patriotic motif. RCL has more athletic extras (wall climbing, ice rink etc.. )

In my experience I think (with the exception of Anytime Dining) NCL is more similar to Carnival.

The best Carnival ships for layout, IMHO, are the spirit-class ships (Legend, Miracle, Spirit...) but they're all kind of decorative...although not "neon" by any stretch of the imagination. In fact, the Miracle is my favorite ship, even with the grapes lol.

Usually the aft pool is adults only. It's pretty much enforced also.

I've also cruised Celebrity, HAL, NCL, and I'm sure you'll really enjoy your Carnival experience.

In my opinion, the least 'Las Vegas' of all Carnival ships would be the Dream. The decor is much more subtle than other ship and easier on the eyes.

Also, it's not a 'theme' ship. There's not one central idea that ties the ship together bow to stern but you will see some design elements that are common throughout the vessel...

:)

I agree that RCCL is most similar to Carnival, but Princess and Norwegian aren't too far off either IMHO (though at opposite ends). As for the least glitzy, I would definitely say the Spirit class. You won't see one drop of neon on those ships! I just got off the Pride and thought the decor was beautiful.
