L shaped balcony cabin?

I'm curious to know if the L-shaped cabins on the Valor have the bed facing the wall (like in the Triumph pictures above) or the window.

I sail in 6481 (an L-shape) on the Valor in a couple months!

On the Valor they do face the ocean...on the Triumph no...we had #6473 on the Valor for our first L-shaped cabin..loved sitting in bed and looking out on the ocean..so when we booked the Triump #6459 I was disappointed that the bed faced the wall..still an awesome cabin..love the extra closet and the bigger balcony...

we are assigned cabin #6459 on the triumph; we can change to a regular balcony cabin if we want too. Has anyone stayed in one of these l shaped cabins? Any thoughts?

We've had the same cabin on the Conquest it's GREAT! Layout is wonderfull and you should have 2 windows and a door to your balcony. Only downfall is the lounge below if your an "early to bed" kind of person you might be bothered by some noise. These are our favorite cabins we've had them on the Conquest twice and the Destiny twice and are booked in on for the Conquest this Christmas and the Magic next Christmas. LOVE the extra space on the balcony and if there isn't a lounge chair ask you cabin stewart if maybe you could get one. If it arrives please give him/her a little $ tip as they had to ask for it and go get it. :)

Forget the bungee cord to hold the balcony doors open. Just use the door stop and put it in the hinge about half way up. It works great. Just remember not to open the balcony door the same time as the hallway door because it becomes like a wind tunnel and everything flies around.

There is a brilliant CC member that posted a great picture of how to brace the balcony door open with a toothbrush. I'll see if I can find it. It looked even better than the door stop idea!

Ps. Found it!

I was so excited and ready to book an L Shape balcony on the Triumph for our annual October cruise. My PVP said, "Ya know, it's a Queen and you can't get two twins in there". Me and my roomie love each other but don't want to sleep in the same bed so we went with an AFT balcony. BUT, we got one of the secret ones!;)

Welllllllll since we always cruise in October when it's our anniversary and this was an anniversary cruise I promise you that it was one bed. Don't think DH would have liked separate beds.....now it was a queen but we still had "plenty of room"..I'll try and see if I can find some pics when I get home tonight and post them..

Thank you everyone who answered my question about the Valor L-shapes!!

Does anyone that was in 6481 happen to have some pictures?

I have them since we just returned from that cruise but don't know how to post pictures on here. If you can explain it, I'll try.

The two twins were pushed together for one king sized bed. Same as in our cabin. Our friends were in 6473 and she probably would have liked to separate those beds after she saw how much her husband lost in the casino but I'm guessing didn't want to ask the room steward to redo all the sheets - lol.

Lynne, I so understand your friend wanting to separate the beds!

I am relieved to hear it's two twins pushed together. I'll be cruising with my son and he (and I) are way too old to be in the same bed!

Thanks so much!

Dang! I'm gonna be disappointed if it's true you can separate the beds into twins in the L Shaped cabin!!!! The "secret" cabin we have is 8435. For some reason, the balcony is 1/3 wider and I think longer that the other AFT balconies :).

Seems there is quite a bit of difference in the L shaped cabins with the bed placement between different ships. Some facing window, some not. Some one bed, some two....etc. Didn't have an L last year, but in our cabin the bed was a king, made from two twins, and although they could have been separated, we left them as is for my daughter and myself. It was huge, and so very very comfy!

The balconies sound amazing though and I'll be spending more time on the ship and the balcony that in bed.

Now I understand. You're right, 8435 is a bigger balcony. I found out from looking at photos of the back of the ship. But for the dates we needed that room was already booked. We ended up booking the aft cabin next to it instead. Although I did indicate to them if it opened up I would like it, so they said they would put me on a waitlist for that cabin. Here's hoping the ones in that cabin go for an upgrade/upsell and I can get the cabin I want.
