talyman2001 Posted August 27, 2010 #1 Share Posted August 27, 2010 Good evening everyone. My wife and I are booked on back to back cruises in January. My rookie question is...do we need to disembark mid-cruise, and embark again, or will we be able to just chill out in our suite while the hustle and bustle carries on around us? Thanks for your answers.
mymollysue Posted August 27, 2010 #2 Share Posted August 27, 2010 I haven't done a B2B but many people who post here have, and you do have to disembark. I think they bring you to a special waiting area in the terminal with others who are doing a B2B.
garycarla Posted August 27, 2010 #3 Share Posted August 27, 2010 Not a silly question. But, hard to answer as this will vary depending on the port in question, and where the ship has been. And, when you say suite, do you mean a real suite, or a fake one (mini-suite).
Dolphins Posted August 27, 2010 #4 Share Posted August 27, 2010 For future cruises, consider the following when planning a back-to-back cruise. Many ports have more than one ship in port at the same terminal on the same day. You can disembark from your first ship and walk with your luggage to the 2nd ship. On your second cruise, you will have different menus, shows and activities and you won't reprise the same thing you did on your first cruise. And, when you say suite, do you mean a real suite, or a fake one (mini-suite). And did you get the same suite/cabin for both cruises? That will make a difference, too. If not, you will need to essentially pack up your belongings as if you were leaving the ship (though not put them out in the hallway the night before). bob&france Posted August 27, 2010 #7 Share Posted August 27, 2010 Generally they will have a spot for you to assemble once everyone else is off and before anyone else comes on. They will escort you off and to customs and then back { takes about 10 minutes } and then you've got the whole ship to yourself for a while. If your lucky you'll have a balcony on the embarkation side so you can watch everyone get off and chuckle. bob
talyman2001 Posted August 28, 2010 Author #8 Share Posted August 28, 2010 Thanks everyone for your replies. We are in an actual suite (AE), and we are booked in the same suite for the length of the cruise. We are leaving from Miami, doing the Eastern Caribbean loop on the Pearl, then doing the Western loop immediately after. This is my first cruise and my wife's second. We have an aft balcony that doesn't appear to have a view of the deck. It sure would be fun to watch people embark!
