Cruisin Rick Posted February 13, 2005 #1 Share Posted February 13, 2005 My Mother in Law will be on an upcoming cruise and one port will be Alcapolco She'd really like to do the Dolphin Swim. My question is, how strenuous is this? She is 76 and isn't too agile. She'd really like to do this and I'd like to hear from some others who have been there, done that. Any seniors? BZellner Posted February 21, 2005 #2 Share Posted February 21, 2005 My family and I just returned from the Norwegian Star and loved every single second of it. My daughters, ages 9 & 13 both swam with the dolphins in Acapulco and I would HIGHLY recommend it for your mother in law. The only took 16 people in the group and they split them into two groups of 8 when you arrive. Each group gets into a pool with 2 dolphins and do tricks and fun stuff then they switch to the other pool and the other two dolphins to do more. The only thing your mother in law might not want to participate in is when they have you lay in the water on your stomach with your legs straight and the two dolphins come up behind her and push her up and out of the water, almost like body surfing. Other than that, everything would be perfect for her to enjoy. In the group with my daughters was a very large woman and a lady with MS and limited mobility of her legs and arms. Both of them did great and enjoyed it. Have a wonderful time - - we know we did!
