Buck Island

Hi,

Thinking of taking a cat trip from St. Thomas to Buck Island for a few hours to snorkel. How is the snorkelling at Buck Island? Do you reccomend it?

Which Buck Island? The Buck Island at St Croix is good snorkeling. Have never heard anything about snorkeling or going to the one near St Thomas.

The Buck Island catamaran excursion is fun, but the snorkeling is very so-so. As long as you are going to St. Thomas, pick an excursion heading toward St. John for much better snorkeling. You might pay a little more, but it is SO worth it.

I have to agree the snorkeling around the Buck Island is very mediocre. Depends on your point of reference. If you have never snorkeled or done very little, it might be nice. It takes a while to get there and I was personally dissapointed.
