Im booking this weekend for next summer but can not decide between the Azura OR Ventura, I will be travelling with teenagers , young adults and an 80 year old.

The itinerary is about the same. I was just wondering if anyone can give me any advice or should I just toss a coin and hope for the best as my son suggested.

Physically, the ships are nearly identical. The main differences are on the open decks. Over the rear pool, Azura has an outdoor cinema screen, Ventura a retracting roof. On Azura, the front part of the top deck, including the Oasis Pool, form a pay-extra spa extension, The Retreat; on Ventura, this is free public space.

The main difference is in the ambience. Ventura is a contemporary ship with a relaxed attitude aimed at families and young (or young at heart) adults - think a big Oceana. Azura is more traditional, aimed at P&Os traditional, older, market, with a higher degree of formality - think a big Aurora. Two different personalities, which one suits you will probably depend on yours. I suspect that your children would probably prefer Ventura, your mother Azura. Whichever you choose, however, you are unlkely to be dissappointed.
