Sooo happy to see the menus and Fun Times! So sad to not see Grand Mariner souffle, I'd heard so much about it on here, was excited to try it. Maybe it'll make it's way to the 5 day menu before January! Thanks again!

Its still served on the 5 day cruises. I had it on the Fantasy back in Apr. Usually they wait till the last night to serve it. Which happened on the 8 day Miracle trip last year.

Maybe, but I wouldn't count on it.

The cruise ships that only do 4 and 5 day cruises have a different menu set.

Triumph does 4, 5, and 7 day cruises, so the 5 day menu is a subset of the 7 day menus.

You could maybe make a special request for it with your waitstaff and/or the maitre d', but it would have to be done in advance. You've got nothing to lose.

Thanks ....YOU ROCK.

If you run into Ashley again....could you ask him if he will still be there in October?

My bestfriend (Rozwin) is Ashley brother's (Clyde) cabin mate on the Dream!!!

Have a WONDERFUL cruise.....

Check out my review in the Member Review's section about Ashley and his demeanor on the ship - I hope he is NOT on the ship for my next cruise...

Oh - the review was from back in March...

and an oyster poboy. Originally there were so many oysters I had to eat quite a few before I would have a chance of closing the sandwich

True, I may give that a shot, thanks again! I got excited about our cruise all over again

Thanks for the great review and especially the pictures!

You almost make me wish I'd skipped the cruise and just chose to stay in NOLA!;)

Question, though: I've never sailed out of New Orleans, so wondering if you have to go through Port Security AND Carnival's? Also, do you go through Carnival's security before or after you "check in"?

Staying in New Orleans isn't a bad option. ;)

Summary of security...

1) Seacaps ask for passports and Fun Pass (now Boarding Pass) when you turn over your checked luggage.

2) Carnival asks for same at the terminal entrance door.

3) Up the escalators/elevators and then through "Port" Security where they xray your carry on luggage. If Platinum, stay to the left. This is the only xray/metal detector to deal with.

4) Check-in with Carnival

5) Carnival will check that you have your sail and sign card before letting you on the ship.

6) Once on the ship, Carnival will take your picture and store with sail and sign info, but no more xrays.

In ports of call, there would be port security - mostly checking IDs, and the Carnival security once on the ship - xray and such.

It must have been awful to watch her sail away without you!

Loved the review, all the pictures and especially all the food porn!

It's always horrible! But then you realize it is time to plan the next cruise.

A different perspective of the sail away GF took from our hotel room beginning at picture 55:

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! for the wonderful review, many photos and the added extras such as the menus and fun times.

Makes me so excited wishing my time on the Triumph was closer!

We're also going to have a couple days in NOLA before cruise. Looking forward to some touring and great food.

One question though, What makes a Muffaletta so special???

Looks like they would make great postcards!

We will be sailing out on the Triumph for the second time in 31 days...

Did the 7 day western in the spring, doing the 7 day eastern this time...

Already trying to decided where to go next, it is the only thing that helps when you have to get off the boat knowing that you will be back...

Taste is something that is very subjective. If you don't like olives, you probably won't care for muffulettas. At the end of the day, it is just a sandwich, albeit a large one, but I love them (in moderation).

The Olive salad is what makes or breaks a muffuletta and for me, Central Grocery still makes the best with a platonic mixture of a wonderful olive salad, salami, ham, cheese, and mortadella on round Italian bread.

Truth be told, years ago they were better. Central did change their olive salad recipe some and the bakery that made the BEST bread for muffelettas was lost to Katrina.

OK, we're going to HAVE to go to an Acme location. I LOVE fried oysters! And the shrimp and rice looks great! I'm also a big fan of shrimp and grits, the basic kind, not the ones with the bbq/hot sauce.

Thanks for the Muffuletta explanation. I like olives but do not love them (partial to black, not green). However, my husband is a BIG olive fan. I think I will surprise him with a muffuletta.

Thanks so much for the restaurant suggestions.

If it isn't one of the channels they normally get, they should be able to pay to get it. I might start asking the cruise director as soon as you board to make sure it happens. The more people asking ???

From personal experience on the Conquest last October and other ops's Monday Night football is shown on all seaside theatres...although the broadcast had spanish graphics with american commentary. Weird...but I could still tell the dolphins beat the jets...en vivo!

Spent the weekend in NOLA this past weekend and ate at K Paul's Louisiana Kitchen... OMG WOW...

What a meal! Superb food, authentic, delicious meticulously prepared, great atmosphere... Make reservations and request to be on the 2nd floor... very intimate!

Here is their website... http://www.chefpaul.com/kpaul
