maryann ns Posted September 6, 2010 #3 Share Posted September 6, 2010 I don't know of anywhere in Halifax downtown except perhaps the shops at the pier terminal or the new market next door. There are great fish eating places along the waterfront in Halifax. I've noticed that the Japanese restaurant advertises live lobster. It is hard to go wrong with live lobster. One good place is Salty's which is on the waterfront at the opposite end from where you dock. It has good food and a great outside deck for good weather and great views from large windows upstairs. Raynebaby Posted September 6, 2010 #4 Share Posted September 6, 2010 I live close to St John and I'd get it at the city market, it's really close to the port as well. The seafood there is quite good.
tuffy0317 Posted September 7, 2010 #5 Share Posted September 7, 2010 St. John - Grannan's Seafood in Market Place was really good. I had a lobster roll and my husband had fish and chips. http://www.grannanhospitalitygroup.com/grannans/ Halifax - One of our best meal's the whole trip was at McKelvie's. My husband had salmon that was absolutely melt-in-your-mouth, falling apart awesome and I had fish and chips, beer battered in a local brew. http://mckelvies.com/ St. John's City Market had places that advertised shipping seafood home.
